Purpose

As the Restaurant & Events Assistant Manager, you’ll take the lead in the daily operations of our Food & Beverage outlets, ensuring they run as independently profitable units while delivering standout guest experiences. You’ll inspire and develop your team, drive revenue through fresh and innovative ideas, and champion initiatives that protect profit.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the restaurant, room service, and events, ensuring high service standards and guest satisfaction.
  • Lead and support the team with hands-on coaching, focusing on staff development and product knowledge.
  • Monitor and control departmental costs, using systems for effective management.
  • Facilitate strong inter-departmental communication, particularly with the kitchen, to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist with the development and innovation of food and beverage menus, aligning with current trends.
  • Drive sales through strategic initiatives and by providing consistent feedback to the kitchen on menu items and wastage.
  • Ensure compliance with liquor licensing requirements and uphold legal and operational standards.

 

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in a similar leadership role within food and beverage operations
  • Strong understanding of operational systems with the ability to manage and optimise processes.
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on team development, staff motivation, and cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Solid financial acumen with experience in managing budgets, controlling costs, and driving profitability.
  • Creative flair for menu development and a passion for keeping up with food and beverage trends.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistent service standards while handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
