Housekeeping Manager

Purpose

As the Housekeeping Manager, you play a pivotal role with an unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness.  You will lead a team of skilled individuals to collectively create an amazing first impression for our guests - one of comfort, cleanliness and safety that sets the tone throughout their entire stay.

Location: Peppers Beacon, 34 Lake Esplanade, Queenstown, 9300

Annual Salary: $31.61 Hourly rate

Contract: Permanent Full-Time

Hours: Minimum 30 to Maximum 48 hours per week

Minimum Experience: Diploma or at least 3 years of relevant experience

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the housekeeping team, ensuring efficiency and high-quality service
• Develop and implement cleaning schedules and quality control measures.
• Provide hands-on training and coaching to housekeeping staff 
• Monitor inventory levels and manage supply orders 
• Maintain strong interdepartmental relationships to ensure seamless operations 
• Uphold brand standards and respond to guest requests with professionalism 
• Determining work requirements and allocating duties to Housekeepers. 
• Maintaining attendance records and rosters. 
• Overseeing the work of the unit and suggesting improvements and changes. 
• Conferring with workers to resolve grievances 
• Advanced English communication skills (multilingual abilities are a plus) 
• Strong teamwork skills and the ability to foster positive internal relationships. 
• Knowledge of cleaning protocols, equipment, and chemical handling

 Skills and Experience

• Demonstrate an exceptional eye for detail and possesses prior leadership experience in housekeeping
• Exhibit outstanding communication, interpersonal, and time management abilities, coupled with a friendly and approachable demeanour
• Display quick thinking and adaptability to ensure seamless daily operations
• Balance effective leadership with a collaborative team spirit, actively engaging in hands-on support to ensure the team's success
• Able to accommodate a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
• At least 1 year of relevant experience (ANZSCO Skill Level 2)
