About the role

The Senior Manager, Procurement leads the procurement function and the management of third party supplier spend across Australian Red Cross. Responsible for developing a procurement strategy and influencing senior stakeholders, this role requires strong leadership and coaching skills to lead a diverse procurement team. The Senior Manager requires a deep understanding of all aspects of the procurement life-cycle. Bringing a partnership mindset, you will develop strategic supplier relationships which enhance value, create revenue opportunities and deliver ESG initiatives.


What you will do day to day

  • Provide leadership to the procurement team including the management of resources, stakeholders and priorities
  • Support and uplift of procurement resources including mentoring, coaching and training
  • Develop a comprehensive and data led procurement strategy which includes an opportunity assessment, governance requirements and capability review
  • Lead the implementation of the procurement policy to ensure that processes are efficient, effective and ethical
  • Conduct strategic sourcing projects such as supplier tenders and strategic negotiations
  • Develop strategic supplier relationships which enhance value, improve compliance and deliver ESG initiatives
  • Assess and manage risks associated with supplier relationships, contractual agreements and market dynamics to ensure continuity of supply and ethical practices

 

What you will bring

  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership role within procurement and success in driving results in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong experience in leading procurement teams and engendering a positive team culture
  • Strategic analysis skills and the ability transform procurement functions
  • Demonstrated experience in all aspects of procurement including strategic sourcing, category management and managing internal compliance
  • Demonstrated experience in leading strategic negotiations with suppliers
  • Experience in project management, resource management and the ability to deliver results in a matrix management environment
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across all levels of the organisation
