As part of the Australian Red Cross International Program, Australian Red Cross works with Red Cross and Red Crescent National Societies, the IFRC and ICRC to improve the lives of vulnerable communities. The Pacific team lead Australian Red Cross’s strategic partnerships and associated program support to our National Society partners and are accountable for the successful implementation of the International Programs Design.
About the role
The Program Adviser, Pacific is responsible for maintaining a ‘programmatic overview’ of Australian Red Cross’s engagement with each partner. This includes supporting annual planning, monitoring, evaluation and learning, reporting and coordinating inputs from relevant internal stakeholders throughout. The role will also support the Senior Manager – Pacific to identify and manage complex compliance and safeguarding risks and the associated documentation. Under the guidance of Australian Red Cross’s International Programs Design, the Program Adviser - Pacific will also seek opportunities for Australian Red Cross to expand and evolve its support, ensuring depth, relevance and value-add to our partnerships.
Inherent requirements of this role include international and domestic travel. A condition of employment with Australian Red Cross is that all employees abide by security and health protocols, procedures and policies.
What you will bring
- Sound knowledge and experience of the Asia Pacific region
- Proven ability in analysis, strategic planning and successful implementation of complex operations
- Sound experience in mobilising resources to support development and humanitarian outcomes from institutional and public donors
- Excellent analytical capacity including interpersonal, negotiation, influencing and cross-cultural skills
- Demonstrated capacity of working within and contributing to information management systems and Monitoring, Evaluation, Reporting and Learning frameworks
- Experience in documenting the holistic impact of program interventions and donor reporting
- Ability to communicate and work collaboratively in a cross-cultural setting with a variety of stakeholders
- Ability to speak and write a second language is highly desirable
Influenza and international travel vaccinations are mandatory requirements of this role.
