How this role supports our work
This role supports the Senior Manager – Property & Leasing in driving the property accommodation growth strategy. Key responsibilities include sourcing new retail and commercial office sites, negotiating leases, overseeing fit outs, ensuring financial feasibility, and finalising lease documentation. You will also assist in coordinating store or office closures, relocations, making good of existing premises, lease administration, rent and outgoing payments, and negotiating maintenance responsibilities with landlords.
What you will do day to day
- Assist the Senior Manager – Property and Leasing and the analytics team in identifying best potential geographic locations for the strategic new store roll out program.
- Conduct new site identification and negotiate commercial terms.
- End-to-end project management of new stores, relocations, store closures.
- Negotiate termination of existing accommodation (both retail and commercial offices) including project management of make good.
- Negotiate lease renewals of existing premises with beneficial incentives and cost effective rents
- Assist in the preparation of Business Cases for lease renewals or new leases at new locations.
- Interstate travel when required.
What you will bring
- Previous experience in Commercial/Retail Property Leasing and/or Management
- Sound financial and retail / commercial knowledge gained through experience
- Strong functional knowledge of the Retail Leases Act across all states of Australia
- High level of knowledge in Australian national retail and commercial locations
- Sound analytical skills to make sense of complex and sometimes contradictory information
- Ability to work collaboratively with a wide variety of stakeholders
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
