  • Short term role to meet student placement requirements as per Monash University’s Psychological Science in Practice Placement
  • 7.6 hours per week for 12 weeks
  • 7.6 hours per day for 1 days per week (9:00am – 5:06pm)

The program 

Wellbeing Health and Safety (WHS) supports and guides all Australian Red Cross People and the Australian Red Cross Society to meet their WHS Act 2020 obligations. 

The opportunity 

 

Provide university level psychology students an opportunity to gain practical experience in the application of their theoretical knowledge within a workplace context. 

For this role you will need: 

  • Strong conversational skills and the ability to relate to and empathise with a broad range of Australian Red Cross People who are delivering humanitarian services
  • Strongly collaboration and consultation capabilities
  • Project management and presentation capabilities

You will be comfortable using computers, including the Microsoft Office Suite i.e. Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel and navigating through the Australian Red Cross intranet.

You will be prepared to follow direction and participate in various tasks which reflect ‘work as real’ in all levels of WHS, and the People & Culture team more broadly. 

The impact 

During your student placement, you will: 

  • Review data from the Belonging and Employee culture surveys
  • Conduct a gap analysis of existing WHS psychosocial risk management and prevention plans
  • Develop additional psychosocial risk management prevention plans
  • Socialisation and finalisation of psychosocial risk management prevention plans
  • Present psychosocial risk management prevention plans to People & Culture Leadership team
  • Complete all mandatory Australian Red Cross training

Application requirements:

  • For this role you will be required to undertake a National Police Check, which will be organised through Red Cross upon acceptance of your offer
  • You will need to provide a recent copy of your CV
