Conveyancer

Drawing on our heritage as part of the Avant Mutual Group, Australia’s leading medical organisation with over 130 years of history, Avant Law has supported more than 2,000 clients, by delivering specialised commercial legal advice across the medical, health and broader business sectors.
We are seeking an experienced conveyancer to join our Melbourne CBD team on a permanent, full-time basis. This role reports to the Special Counsel, Property who has over 12 years’ post-qualification experience at various law firms and commercial companies.
Avant Law are looking to secure a confident and capable Solicitor or Licensed Conveyancer who will work closely with our Victorian and wider national team. This full-time role is integral to the smooth operation and continued growth of our practice, and you will be responsible for handling a diverse range of conveyancing matters ensuring our clients receive an exceptional level of service.
The key responsibilities include:
- acting on all aspects of a conveyance, from pre-contract review and negotiations to post settlement, including use of the PEXA platform;
- drafting terms and preparing sale contracts;
- reviewing and advising clients on proposed purchase contracts;
- managing predominantly residential transactions autonomously including off the plan transactions;
- liaising with clients, banks, real estate agents, solicitors and other third parties at every stage of the transaction to prepare all required correspondence and legal documents;
- utilise strong organisational skills to manage high volumes of work and meet deadlines.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- 3-4 years’ experience as a Conveyancer/Registered Conveyancer in commercial, business, rural and land division matters;
- excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills;
- proficiency in using PEXA and practice management systems;
- strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients;
- ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- commitment to providing exceptional client service; and
- knowledge of property law and conveyancing practices in Victoria is essential. National knowledge is highly regarded.
