The Opportunity
In this position you will support the General Manager - Risk and Safety in maintaining oversight and providing advice and reporting on Aveo's risk management and business resilience activities. The Risk and Resilience Manager is a 'hands-on' risk practitioner role that has direct ownership and accountability for risk and resilience activities across the organisation.
You will
- Implement/update/embed Aveo's risk management plan and strategy, communicate expectations and obligations through ExCo and managers, and monitor and report on performance to improve Aveo's risk profile.
- Identify and detect potential threats to brand/reputation, financial sustainability, operational efficiency, workforce investments, regulatory compliance and safety to fully develop a shared understanding of Aveo's risk exposure.
- Conduct/facilitate the performance of regular risk assessments and preparation of all documentation related to risk assessment (e.g. risk registers),
- Deliver regular risk analysis and reporting tailored to relevant audiences; including the CRO, CEO and Board/Audit and Risk Committee (complete with actionable plans for the avoidance or prevention of possible threats at all levels).
- Monitor changes to legislation or risk guidance that will impact Aveo, and ensure the Group is positioned to respond and comply with revised regulations/guidance.
- Review any new major contracts or internal business proposals from a risk perspective.
- Manage risk data and system configuration within the risk management system.
- Establish a framework and methodology for business resilience, comprising business continuity and crisis management.
- Lead corporate-wide contingency planning/business continuity efforts and act as developer and central custodian of contingency plans.
- Liaise with business stakeholders to ensure appropriate Emergency Response and IT Disaster Recovery Plans are in place.
- Design standard Risk Assessment, Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and other Business Continuity tools and capabilities.
- Undertake desktop or real-world testing of business continuity and/or crisis management plans (where appropriate).
What you'll bring
- Min 5 years' experience is required, with at least three years in a risk management field.
- Expert knowledge of risk management, risk standards and assessment techniques (including ISO3100:2018)
- Experience in business continuity planning (risk assessment/ business impact analysis/ plan creation)
- Experience in crisis management, including the creation of crisis management tools and systems
- Strong understanding of business drivers and the commercial environment.
- Experience in healthcare or aged care (Desired)
- Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Experience with risk management software (Desired)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to build relationships and rapport easily.
- Strong report/business writing skills.
- Analytical and problem solving, Influencing and negotiation skills.
