The Role

Classic Residences Retirement Village located in Brighton East is currently seeking enthusiastic, committed and reliable Personal Care Assistants on a Casual basis.

With a commitment to providing exceptional customer service, you will have proven experience in dealing with the elderly, along with the ability and confidence to make critical decisions in relation to resident care.

• Assisting with meal delivery and food preparation
• Light domestic cleaning
• Showering and dressing of residents when required
• Medication prompting
• Making light breakfast for select residents
• Responding to resident enquiries
• Responding to call outs
• Undertaking first aid
• Initiating emergency services where required
• Basic admin tasks
• Conducting welfare checks on residents
• Other tasks around the village as directed

Shifts:

• Casual – approx. 3 shifts per week
• Shift hours:
  • Day shifts 7am -3pm (active)
  • Evening shifts 3pm-9pm (active) with a sleepover (inactive) until 7am
  • Occasionally extra shifts available

The successful candidate will have:

• Cert III in Aged Care or equivalent (essential)
• Current Level 2 First Aid Certificate/CPR or willing to obtain – (The village will pay for you to obtain)
• Availability to do evening/sleepover shifts
• Strong customer service skills, with a genuine interest in working with the elderly
• High motivation, with the ability to take initiative in often stressful situations.
• Experience working within Aged Care or Retirement communities.
• Food Safety Certificate, or willingness to obtain.
