Campus Student Support Assistant (Kerikeri)

About the role

One of our amazing staff members is heading overseas. So we are looking for a compassionate and committed teacher aide to join us at our Kerikeri Campus. The Kerikeri Campus provides for students in the towns of Kerikeri, Kaitaia and Whangarei. The students from these regions travel each day in our school vans to receive the quality education that is available at this campus. 

This role is on a part-time basis until December 2025 (25 hours per week, term time only).  Hours will be made up between 8:30 - 3:00pm. Monday, Tuesday , Thursday & Friday

Purpose

• Promote and Support the ongoing development of OSG Students 

• Contribute to building a positive team environment  

• Attend and provide feedback for students, staff and families

Skills and Experience:

• Experience supporting young people with learning challenges.

• Experience applying effective strategies and opportunities for learning.

• An understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum and of different learning methods.

• A good level of digital competency.

• Ability to cater for a student’s varying needs, including implementation of strategies to support development of communication and learning.

• Excellent relationship building and communication skills.

• Patience, resilience, adaptability and empathy.
