The role:
Having just implemented a new HRIS / payroll system, we’re currently looking for a Payroll Officer to join our high performing Payroll team who are responsible for processing our weekly payroll for all employees across Australia and New Zealand.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Process the end-to-end weekly payroll cycles.
- Ensure compliance with relevant awards, legislation, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and reports.
- Manage superannuation, PAYG, and other statutory obligations.
- Respond to payroll-related queries from staff and management.
- Maintaining deductions and allowances including salary packaging.
- Liaising with site payroll personnel.
- Undertake various projects.
The successful candidate will have:
- 3+ years’ payroll experience.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Extensive knowledge of payroll related legislation.
- Exposure to interpreting and applying awards and enterprise agreements.
- Excellent time management skills – the ability to plan and prioritise.
- Strong communication skills – written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team.
- Strong customer service ethos.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
