Lead quality improvement and make a lasting difference in aged care

At Uniting, we’re driven by our values—bold, respectful, imaginative and compassionate—to deliver meaningful change for the people we support. We’re currently seeking a passionate Quality Improvement Specialist to join our Residential Aged and Health Care team, where you'll play a key role in strengthening service quality across our care homes.

About the Role

In this pivotal role, you’ll provide specialist advice and coaching in quality management to local operational teams across our residential aged care services. You'll partner closely with the Practice & Quality team and Clinical Governance, supporting site-level implementation of Uniting's quality management strategies.

You'll be hands-on in areas like:

  • Accreditation, auditing and complaints handling
  • Incident management coaching and oversight
  • Driving continuous improvement in clinical governance
  • Supporting Service Managers to build capability and confidence in leading safe, high-quality services

This is a people-focused, purpose-driven role—ideal for someone who thrives on collaboration, has deep knowledge of aged care quality standards, and is passionate about empowering others.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead and support quality improvement and efficiency initiatives
  • Provide advice and coaching on incident response and complaint resolution
  • Facilitate implementation of stream-wide quality frameworks and clinical governance plans
  • Build capability in operational teams through education and mentoring
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and external regulators to maintain compliance and excellence in care

About You

You’re an experienced clinician with strong knowledge of quality management in aged care, and a natural coach who enjoys building capacity in others. You’re organised, approachable, and great at translating strategic goals into local action.

You’ll bring:

  • Current AHPRA registration (Registered Nurse)
  • Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a quality improvement or clinical governance role
  • In-depth understanding of aged care standards, audits, complaints, and incident management
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building and influencing skills
  • A collaborative approach and commitment to Uniting’s values

Even better if you have:

  • Certification with a relevant accreditation body (e.g., ISO, Aged Care Quality Standards)
  • Experience navigating a complex organisation or regulatory environments

Why Uniting?

  • Work with purpose and impact in an organisation that values compassion, inclusion and social justice
  • Develop professionally in an inclusive and collaborative work environment
  • Join a highly engaged and supportive residential care team
  • Be part of a progressive not-for-profit that leads in aged care innovation and advocacy
