About the Role

Are you a visionary workforce strategist ready to make a lasting impact?

We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Strategic Workforce Planning Lead to drive the future of our workforce across the Communities Directorate, which includes Disability, Mental Health, Early Learning, and Child & Family Services.

In this pivotal role, you’ll lead the charge in future proofing our organisation, ensuring we have the right people in the right roles, at the right time to meet the evolving needs of our clients. You’ll work closely with senior leaders to design and implement workforce strategies that are innovative, data-driven, and deeply aligned with our mission to support vulnerable communities.

You will:

  • Partner with senior leaders to develop workforce plans aligned with evolving service priorities
  • Design and implement a practical, data-driven workforce planning framework
  • Use internal data and labour market insights to anticipate and respond to future workforce needs
  • Collaborate with HR, Talent Acquisition, and Learning teams to ensure operational and strategic alignment
  • Support initiatives like volunteer strategies and workforce pipeline development
  • Empower leaders with tailored tools, visualisations, and strategic insights to build their workforce capability
  • Align local workforce strategies with Uniting’s broader organisational mission and values

This role suits a strategic thinker who is confident turning complex data into clear, actionable plans that support sustainable growth and service excellence.

About you

You’re a proactive, people-focused strategist who thrives in cross-functional environments. You’re equally confident navigating data as you are building trust and influence across senior teams.

You’ll bring:

  • 5+ years’ experience in strategic workforce planning or related fields
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and advisory skills
  • A mix of analytical thinking and practical problem-solving
  • Passion for purpose-led work and improving community outcomes
  • Inclusive leadership and a commitment to equity and diversity
  • Tertiary qualifications in HR, Business, Strategy, or related disciplines

What’s in it for you?

At Uniting, we care for our people as much as the communities we serve.

  • Meaningful work that contributes to positive change in local communities
  •  Salary packaging up to $18,550 – boost your take-home pay
  •  Flexible work – 2 days WFH and work-life balance
  •  $500 employee referral bonus
  •  Retail discounts on major brands and services
  •  Internal career pathways – grow with one of Australia’s leading NFPs
  •  Belong to an inclusive team – where diversity is welcomed and celebrated
