Life Skills Supporter - Belfield and Campbelltown
Uniting is seeking a flexible and dedicated Disability Support Worker to work in both Belfield and Campbelltown House 24/7 Supported Independent Living (SIL) accommodation for adults living with disability.
About the Opportunity
- Permanent Part-Time position with a minimum of 20 hours per fortnight
- Can work across both Belfield and Campbelltown SIL Houses
- SCHADS Level 2.1 – starting from $33.41 per hour plus Salary packaging benefits up to $18,550 per year, Penalty rates and Superannuation
- Flexible to work on different shifts: 4 to 8 hours across weekdays and weekends
- Fixed roster with the opportunity to pick up additional shifts in both houses
Our service operates in a 24/7 environment, roster per fortnight may include:
e.g. Two 4-hour shifts and two 6-hour shifts in Campbelltown, with additional shifts in Belfield. Morning, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts may also be offered.
Working with participants aged 20 to 60 years on the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), you will positively engage people with various physical and mental health disabilities, contributing to making a meaningful difference by building their capacity with daily living, confidence in accessing the community and within themselves.
What you will be doing:
- Aiding with daily life activities both at home (meal preparation, cleaning, manual handling, etc) and in the community (budgeting and shopping routines).
- Supporting individuals with their educational and work-related endeavours.
- Facilitating access to various community, social, and recreational activities.
- Assisting with transportation to enable access to daily activities and engagements.
Who we are looking for:
- NSW Drivers license (can be on Green P Plates), access to a reliable car and comprehensive car insurance are required for the role.
- Possession of a valid NSW Working with Children Check and NDIS Workers Check is necessary.
- Holding a current First Aid Certificate is also a necessary qualification.
- Previous experience or qualifications in disability of young adults or aged care.
