About the role:

 

This is a casual position located in the ACT, covering two family focussed programs based at Turner and Macgregor.  Starting base hourly rate of $33.93 plus 25% casual loading & super.

About the opportunity: 

 

As a Casework Support Worker, you’ll play a vital behind-the-scenes and on-the-ground role—supporting our caseworkers to ensure that no child, young person or family falls through the cracks. Whether it’s coordinating transport, preparing referrals, attending appointments, or lending a listening ear, your presence will help create stability in times of stress.

You’ll work closely with families, providing culturally responsive, respectful support that reflects the diversity of the communities we walk alongside.

  • Supporting caseworkers with critical day-to-day needs such as transport, documentation, phone follow-ups and client meetings.
  • Keeping accurate client records and supporting smooth service delivery.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure the best outcomes for Uniting clients.
  • Upholding Uniting’s strong value and commitment to cultural safety, especially for First Nations & CALD families.

 

About You:

  • Cert IV or above in community services or a related field.
  • Experience working with vulnerable young people and families.
  • Understands the impact of trauma and family hardship, and responds with empathy and professionalism.
  • Works well in a team, brings energy and warmth to your work, and communicates clearly.
  • Current drivers licence and current ACT WWVP.
