Educator
- $29-30/hr (depending on experience) + 25% casual loading + superannuation
- The position will require flexible hours, typically during after-school hours, school holidays, and occasional professional development days.
- Main availability: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday After school care session
About the Opportunity
Located at Uniting Brookvale OSHC (Brookvale Public School). We are seeking a Casual OSHC Educator who will play a key role in assisting with the facilitation and delivery of a wide variety of programmed activities in an Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) setting. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, supporting their learning and development, and ensuring a safe and engaging environment. The role will focus on running activities such as crafts, STEM projects, and engaging physical activities, with a particular emphasis on promoting emotional regulation skills and healthy physical activity. The largest focus of the role will be to provide active supervision of children during activities to ensure their safety, well-being, and enjoyment, to create a positive, safe, and welcoming environment where children feel comfortable to explore and express themselves and to ensure children are appropriately supervised during transitions between activities and during outdoor play.
What you’ll be doing in this role
As a Educator, you’ll provide quality education and care to children to help support and facilitate their learning outcomes in accordance with the National Quality Standards and learning framework!
Your work may include:
- Being accountable for supervision of children and ensuring their safety
- Supporting the ongoing development of the children
- Participating in all aspects of the day to day running of the centre
- Fostering relationships with families and children throughout the centre

- Have a good knowledge of the My Time Our Place Framework and the National Quality Framework
- Have the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, families and community members
- Believe in positive team spirit and embrace working in a diverse team
- Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and relate to children in a positive and respectful manner.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to prepare for activities, ensuring materials are ready and the environment is safe and engaging, while ensuring critical reflection is occurring.
- Team Player: Collaborative and able to work effectively with other educators in a dynamic, busy environment.
- First Aid and CPR: Current first aid and CPR certificate is desirable (or willingness to obtain one).
- Basic Food Handlers: Current Basic Food Handlers training completed
- Clearances: Working With Children Check (WWCC)
