Job Description
WT in Canberra continues to grow with high-profile new engagements landing across a broad range of sectors and with major projects underway, we’re on the lookout for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the growing team.
Working on projects across the ACT, this role will perform various traditional quantity surveying functions including estimating, planning and cost management, cost monitoring, and accurate and timely financial reporting whilst exercising sound financial acumen with a key focus on proactively maximising value for our clients.
This role is responsible for:
- Liaising with clients, architects and main contractors
- Identifying and facilitating new business opportunities
- Master-plan and feasibility budgets
- Cost checking of developing design
- Value engineering
- Tender evaluations and analysis
- Contract negotiations
- Cash flow projects
- Procurement
- Cost reporting
- Evaluation of variations
- Valuations
- Final account reporting
- Claims preparation, presentation, negotiation and settlement of claims
- Investment analysis
- Formulating and implementing benchmarking processes to improve the consistency, accuracy and time to prepare cost models and plans
Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualification in any of the following areas: Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
- Extensive experience in cost estimating and planning software/ Cost X
- Experience managing a broad range of build projects
- RICS / AIQS accredited candidates will be highly regarded
- A thorough understanding of the total project life cycle, from conception, through to completion and post-project review
- Ideally 5+ years industry experience as a QS, with experience on projects in Aged Care, Health, Social Housing, Workspace fitout and Sports & Rec.
