Vegetation Control Trainee - Porirua

Are you passionate about the outdoors and keen to grow a career in horticulture? We’re looking for two motivated Trainee Operators to join our Open Spaces Team in Porirua on a full-time, permanent basis.
This is your opportunity to learn on the job, working alongside experienced professionals to help care for and enhance Porirua’s beautiful parks and reserves. Whether it’s spraying, vegetation control, or general maintenance, you’ll gain valuable hands-on experience and training every step of the way.

What You’ll Bring to the Table | Ngā Mea ka Mauria e Koe ki te Rūnanga:
- Current Class 1 driver's licence.
- Class 2 driver’s license would be a bonus – but not essential.
- Growsafe Certification (we’ll train you if you don’t have it yet!).
- Great communication skills.
- Comfortable using small plant and spray equipment, or keen to learn.
- A strong focus on health and safety – you look out for yourself and your crew.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physically fit and motivated to make a difference.
