Stormwater Crew Lead - Christchurch

About the job: 

We're looking for internal applicants to take on a crew leader position, looking after one of the Southern Tributary rounds in Christchurch! 

In this job you’ll be responsible for: 

• Maintaining all stormwater assets associated to the Stormwater & Waterways contract and ensuring that water can flow freely.  

• Supervising work sites and staff (crews of 3 – 4) that perform a variety of manual labouring tasks related to the maintenance and operation of the stormwater basins/waterways/rivers.  

• Communicating with Team Leaders and Supervisors to coordinate/plan work and resolve any issues that may arise. 

What you’ll need: 

• You will need to be physically fit, health and safety focused, and work well in a team as well as independently. 

• A full class 1 licence and an ability to drive a manual is also essential.  

• Comprehensive workplace first aid. 

• You’ll have the ability to plan work and look after your crew, while ensuring jobs are completed efficiently and effectively. 

• Grow Safe Certificate may be required as some herbicide spraying may be involved.

All preferred candidates will be required to complete preemployment checks to the employer’s satisfaction. These checks include but are not limited to, ministry of Justice criminal conviction report, medical assessment, and drug and alcohol testing.
