Mower Operator/Labourer

About the job:

We're looking for internal applicants to join our Waterways Team in Christchurch, as a remote-control mower operator (RoboEVO 40hp) or a Labourer training to be an operator.

You will assist the tributary, basin and river crews in operating the remote mower for grass cutting to help them achieve their targets. You will work in crews of 2-3 and general labouring will be part of the role.

An alignment with Citycare Water’s values and a commitment to upholding Te Mana O te Wai will ensure success in this role. 

What you’ll need:

• Ideally you will have previous experience using mowers and garden machinery.
• General labouring experience is a must!
• Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt and problem solve, is is a big part of working in our Waterways team.
• You will need to be physically fit, health and safety focused, and work well in a team as well as independently.
• A full class 1 licence is essential, class 2 preferred.

All preferred candidates will be required to complete preemployment checks to the employer’s satisfaction. These checks include but are not limited to, ministry of Justice criminal conviction report, medical assessment, and drug and alcohol testing.
